Major General Abdul Aziz Maktoum Al Shareefi, Director General of Protective Security in the Ministry of Interior, Deputy Head of the Higher Security Committee for the Federal National Council Elections 2019, stressed that the Committee has prepared a tight security plan to secure the workflow of the 4th edition of the elections. The elections is to be held next October, and spans 39 polling station statewide.

Major General Abdul Aziz noted that the Committee is working on overcoming all the obstacles that may hinder the workflow of the electoral process. Major General highlighted a number of guidelines that voters have to follow to ensure the success of this process on the election’s day. These guidelines include, ignoring rumors and refraining from spreading them, and to avoid gathering in front of the Electoral Committees.

Deputy Head of The Higher Security Committee for the Federal National Council Elections said that there is a tight security plan that has been discussed by the Higher Security Committee for the Federal National Council Elections. The plan mainly aims at facilitating the voting process for voters, and ensuring the smoothness of the voting process. The plan will also contribute to public order ensuring the smoothness of the voting process across all the polling stations in the United Arab Emirates.

He explained that the plan aims at removing all the obstacles that can hinder the workflow of the election committees. The plan aims at ensuring the access of voters to the polling sites, and exiting it; in addition to organizing and facilitating their entry, and facilitating the process of voting in order to achieve the largest participation from the members of the electoral body, and to come out with the best outcomes that reflect the Emirati electoral experience.

Al Shareefi pointed out that the Ministry of Interior will provide all facilities and remove all obstacles that are facing the citizens, candidates and voter, to provide the appropriate environment for this democratic process as instructed by our wise leadership; especially that the upcoming elections requires our concerted efforts. This comes in light of the big numbers of citizens enlisted on the electoral lists. He also pointed out that the Ministry of Interior is striving to achieve an honorable outcome of the election. The committee will work as one team that aims to achieve the safety and stability of the citizens and the country.

Major General stressed that the Ministry’s keenness on speeding awareness among voters regarding the rules and provisions of the electoral process, is the result of considering it among the essential tasks for the success of any elections; in addition to the keenness of our wise leadership on involving citizens in the process of decision-making. He also called upon citizens registered in the electoral bodies to contribute in the success of this election by abiding to the instructions and guidelines illustrated in front of the electoral committees.

Al Shareefi noted that the Higher Security Committee for the Federal National Council Elections at the ministry of interior has achieved distinguished successes in the previous electoral entitlements through cooperating and coordinating with all concerned parties and specialized committees in the elections, which is a shared responsibility among all UAE nationals, since it represents a national mission. We should join our efforts to conduct an honorable electoral process that supports the empowerment process endorsed by His Highness the President.
