Held under the patronage of His Highness Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior ، Major General Khalifa Hareb Al-Khaili, Chairman of the Institutional Development Council at the Ministry of Interior witnessed the opening ceremony of the Innovation Foresight Summit 2019. The 2-day event held in Abu Dhabi, is a vital part of the programs initiated by His Highness to encourage MOI to embrace innovation as a tool to better handle the challenges of the future.
The conference, held by MOI for the second year, comes in line with the UAE Strategy for the Future’ by the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan in 2016. The main thrust of this strategy is to place the UAE among the most innovative nations and as one of the global technology leaders to guarantee the future prosperity and wellbeing for all Emiratis.
The 2nd MOI Innovation and Future Exploring Conference offers a platform for UAE government agencies such as the National Security agencies, Law Enforcement Agencies, Police Forces, Regulatory bodies, Customs and Port Authorities, Research Institutes and regional and international experts to deliberate on how innovation can be effectively used to solve future challenges presently.
For this year, the conference will highlight the different ways that digital disruption can be applied by the government to anticipate and plan. Technology experts will present and display their progress in artificial intelligence, robotics, advanced analytics, and other areas of future technology. In the same vein, security experts will review the latest technology in Policing, Patrol, intelligence, predictive crime analytics, investigation, and ICT security to ensure anticipated threats are well managed and do not disturb the safety and security of the State.
There will also be focus on the use of the latest disruptive technologies and innovations to better secure the ports and airports while supporting business growth and facilitating the movement of good and people across borders.
The conference will feature talks by industry leaders drawn from all over the world and interjected by panel discussions. The topics and the list of international speakers and futurists that will illuminate the first day of the event include, Christopher Cordey, Chief Executive Officer, Futuratinow, Switzerland who will be speaking about emerging technology and future policing; and Frank Bekkers, Director of Comprehensive Security Strategy, The Hague Centre for Strategic Studies, Netherlands, who will talk on the Impact of Technology on Society . With other global figures in police work.
Several international thought leaders and experts will be present at the conference which will be attended by key government stakeholders, consultants and technology providers working on innovative initiatives. The event will provide a forum for them all to network and share ideas.
